4 Sri Lankans injured amid Middle East conflict

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment – Arun Hemachandra, says that 04 Sri Lankan nationals have been injured due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Speaking at a media briefing yesterday (March 08), the Deputy Minister stated that all 04 individuals received medical treatment and have since been discharged from hospitals. He also noted that the government is closely monitoring the safety of Sri Lankans living and working in Middle Eastern countries amid escalating tensions in the region. According to Hemachandra, the security and welfare of Sri Lankans overseas remain a top priority, and Sri Lanka’s diplomatic missions in the region are actively observing developments. He further expressed hope that all parties involved will act with restraint to protect civilian lives and that a stable and peaceful resolution to the conflict will be reached soon.
