The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has planned to commence the Fifth National Oral Health Survey today (March 10). The survey aligns with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations that national oral health surveys be conducted at least once every 10 years to assess the oral health status of populations. Accordingly, officials will collect data from a randomly selected sample of 10,000 school students and adults of all age groups across all districts. The survey is scheduled to continue until November. Data from schoolchildren will be collected at school premises, while adult data will be gathered through home visits, where a questionnaire on oral health will be completed and an oral health check will be conducted. The Ministry requests the public to provide full cooperation to medical teams conducting visits, emphasizing that the information obtained is crucial for planning future oral health services.
