6 cops linked to Catholic priest assault, face identification parade

Six police officers attached to the Gampaha Divisional Crime Detection Bureau (DCDB), who were remanded over the alleged assault of a Catholic priest, were brought before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court today (Jan. 29) for an identification parade. It’s reported that the Catholic priest and other witnesses have also arrived at the court premises. Meanwhile, the relevant officers have been interdicted pending further investigation. They were remanded until today (Jan. 29) by the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court on Jan. 26.
