744,500 illegal pharmaceutical tablets seized in Wattala

A total of 744,500 pharmaceutical tablets – illegally imported, have reportedly been seized in Wattala. The seizure was carried out during a special operation jointly conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Police. During the operation, 02 suspects, who were transporting the consignment, were arrested along with the lorry carrying the tablets. The suspects are reported to be residents of Kalpitiya and Kobeigane. The confiscated pharmaceuticals and the lorry have been handed over to the Wattala Police Station for further legal action.
