A plan to introduce a fuel quota system for mopeds

It is reported that the Ministry of Digital Technology has turned its attention to devising a mechanism to issue fuel for 48cc motorcycles (mopeds). As these motorcycles are not registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles, a system for issuing fuel to them through the QR system has not yet been established. As a result, owners of these motorcycles are experiencing difficulties in obtaining fuel. Therefore, the Ministry of Digital Technology has taken steps to introduce a proper system enabling these motorcycles to receive fuel from filling stations. The maximum amount of fuel that can be issued to such a motorcycle is 4 litres. At present, other motorcycles are provided with a weekly fuel quota of 8 litres. It is also stated that a similar fuel quota is likely to be granted to 48cc motorcycles.
