A stock of Kush worth over Rs. 20 mn. seized at BIA

A passenger has been arrested this morning (March 09) by the officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau Airport Unit while attempting to leave Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, with a large consignment of Kush. The estimated street value of the seized stock of Kush is Rs. 27.62 million, according to officials. The suspect had arrived at BIA at 12.10 a.m. from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on AirAsia flight FD-047. During the inspection of his 02 luggage, officers had discovered 02 kg and 762 g of Kush, which had been concealed in 06 packets. Both the suspect and the confiscated narcotics are scheduled to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.
