Bail granted to former CID Deputy Inspector General Prasad Ranasinghe

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release on bail of Prasad Ranasinghe, the former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of committing an offence of corruption by obstructing an investigation. The court issued this order after considering the submissions made by officers of the Bribery Commission and the lawyers representing the suspect.
