Bribery complaint against the Speaker!

Suspended Deputy Secretary General of Parliament, Mr Chaminda Kularatne, has appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. He appeared there to lodge a complaint against Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramaratne. Speaking to the media on behalf of Mr Chaminda Kularathna, Attorney-at-Law Mithun Dias stated that this was not a complaint being made against the Government, but one arising from a personal grievance involving his client, who is currently under suspension. The lawyer further stated that the complaint submitted to the Bribery Commission pertains to alleged corrupt activities of the Speaker.
