Case against Diana Gamage, adjourned

The Colombo Additional Magistrate’s Court today (Jan. 26) ordered that further evidence be recorded on Feb. 16 in the ongoing case against former State Minister Diana Gamage. The case, brought forward by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the instructions of the Attorney General, involves 07 charges under the Immigration and Emigration Control Act. The charges allege that between July 2016 – Nov. 2020, the former State Minister provided false information to obtain a passport and remained in Sri Lanka without a valid visa. During the proceedings before Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva, the court scheduled the next hearing to continue the calling of evidence.
