CC approves to appoint L.S.P. Jayaratne as new Auditor General

The Constitutional Council (CC) has officially granted unanimous approval for the appointment of L. S. P. Jayaratne as the new Auditor General of Sri Lanka. The decision was reached during a pivotal meeting of the Council held today at the Parliament complex, chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne. The appointment brings an end to a 10-month vacancy in the critical post, which has remained so since the retirement of the 41st Auditor General, W. P. C. Wickramaratne, in April 2025.
