CC to decide on AG appointment today

The Constitutional Council (CC) is scheduled to meet today (Feb. 03) at 12.00 noon at the Parliament Complex, under the patronage of its Chairman – Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne. According to reports, the CC is to consider the names recommended by the President for the position of Auditor General during the meeting. The position of Auditor General has remained vacant since April 08, 2025, following the retirement of the former Auditor General, W.P.C. Wickramaratne. Last week, Minister Bimal Rathnayake said that the Constitutional Council is to meet on Feb. 03 to arrive at a final decision. Related News : Final decision on the Auditor General post, on Feb. 03
