Court Order to close Mr. Kottu!

The Negombo High Court today (12) ordered the temporary closure of the Mr. Kottu restaurant located at the Galekanda Junction in Negombo. The order was issued when a case filed by the area’s Public Health Inspector, Mr K. Suranga, was taken up before the court. The case relates to the discharge of wastewater from the restaurant’s kitchen onto the road through a pipe inserted through a hole in a wall. When the matter was previously heard at the Negombo High Court on the 22nd, the court had directed that the restaurant be closed for a period of 14 days and that all deficiencies be properly rectified. However, as those instructions were not duly complied with, this order has now been made.
