Decision on 15,000 Civil Service Department Personnel

Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala says the government plans to release around 5,000 personnel from the Civil Service Department to the Department (CSD) of Wildlife Conservation. The Minister made this statement during an inspection visit to the Civil Service Department Headquarters. He also stated that it is expected that approximately 10,000 CSD personnel will be attached to the Police. Minister Wijepala added that these measures are aimed at further strengthening public security. He further emphasised that special attention will also be given to providing necessary facilities, developing infrastructure, conducting training programmes, and improving human resource management in order to enhance the performance of the CSD.
