Decrease in rainfall from today

The Department of Meteorology says a reduction in the prevailing rainy conditions across the island is expected from today until the 11th. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts. A few showers may also occur in the Uva Province and in the districts of Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Ampara, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa. The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take precautions against lightning hazards.
