Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Unit transferred to Kalutara

Police Headquarters states that immediate transfer orders have been issued for five senior police officers, including a Superintendent of Police. Accordingly, K. A. Udaya Kumara, who served as Director of the Walana Anti-Corruption Strike Force Unit, has been appointed as Officer-in-Charge of the Kalutara Division. Senior Superintendent of Police E. L. Perera has been transferred from his post as Officer-in-Charge of the Gampola Division to Officer-in-Charge of the Colombo North Division; Senior Superintendent of Police K. N. Gunawardena has been transferred from Officer-in-Charge of the Monaragala Division to Police Headquarters; B. A. R. Pushpakumara has been transferred from Officer-in-Charge of the Colombo North Division to Director of the Special Airport Police Division; Senior Superintendent of Police W. M. S. B. Wickramasinghe has been transferred from Police Headquarters (Additional Director – Headquarters Administration) to Officer-in-Charge of the Monaragala Division; and Superintendent of Police C. D. Ilangakoon has been transferred from the Kandy Division to Officer-in-Charge of the Gampola Division. Reports say that a police message signed by Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya, in accordance with a decision of the National Police Commission, has been issued with effect from yesterday (30).
