DWC records 1st turtle nesting at Galle Face in 2026 (Pics)

The first turtle egg-laying at the Galle Face Green this year was recorded on Tuesday night (Feb. 17). The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) reported that an Olive Ridley turtle came ashore to lay its eggs, and officials from the Bellanwila Attidiya Wildlife Office promptly carried out in-situ conservation measures at the site.
