EU allocates €1 million to Sri Lanka

The European Union has allocated an additional €1 million in humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka. This is to support people affected by Cyclone Ditwah and to strengthen continuous relief operations across the country. The funds, to be provided in coordination with humanitarian partner organisations, will be used to deliver essential services to the affected population. Previously, the European Union and its partner organisations also provided €2.35 million in assistance to the people of Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah. This included engineering and technical support as well as material aid. The European Union and its member states are among the world’s leading providers of humanitarian assistance. Key objectives of the European Union include helping people overcome global hardships and safeguarding the resilience and human dignity of those affected by disasters and crises.
