Ex-SIS chief – Sallay hospitalised

Former head of the State Intelligence Service, Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital on today (March 24) after suddenly falling ill. Sallay is currently being held under a 90-day detention order issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as part of investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks. He was arrested on 25 February under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). He was admitted to the hospital after his condition was brought to the attention of the Magistrate. Following an examination, he was referred to a doctor and subsequently admitted to the Hospital on medical advice.
