2026-03-29 - 01:25

The Commissioner General of Examinations, A. K. S. Indika Kumari Liyanage, has firmly stated that the Department of Examinations has not decided to postpone any of the examinations scheduled for 2026, including the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, the GCE Ordinary Level, and the GCE Advanced Level examinations. She noted that there appears to be a perception among students that examinations may be postponed due to the current situation. However, as no such decision has been taken by the Department, students should be prepared to sit the examinations on the previously announced dates. The Department of Examinations also announced that applications for the 2026 GCE Advanced Level Examination will be accepted online until 24 April. Accordingly, all applicants are required to visit the official websites www.doenets.lk and www.onlineexams.gov.lk/eic and submit their applications in accordance with the instructions provided. Students of government and government-approved private schools must submit their applications through their respective school principals, while private candidates are required to submit applications individually using their National Identity Card number.
