Father hacks 14-year-old daughter to death with a machete following a phone dispute

Police say a father has killed his daughter by attacking her with a sharp weapon after a dispute over a mobile phone escalated last night (30). The victim was a 14-year-old girl residing in the Delkada, Uragasmanhandiya area. Preliminary investigations have revealed that during the altercation between the father and the girl, the father carried out the killing by attacking her with a machete. The injured girl was admitted to the Elpitiya Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The police have arrested the suspect father, while the girl’s body has been placed at the Elpitiya Hospital mortuary. The Uragasmanhandiya Police are conducting further investigations.
