Gunman in Jinthupitiya shooting, caught with drugs

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting that took place on Jan. 16 in Jinthupitiya, within the Foreshore Police Division. The suspect was apprehended yesterday (March 03) in the Grandpass Police Division by the Colombo Crime Division. The arrest was made after the investigators received a tip-off that he acted as the gunman in the incident. At the time of arrest, he was found in possession of 11 g and 830 mg of crystal methamphetamine (“Ice”). Further investigations are underway.
