The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday (Jan. 27) has recorded a statement for nearly 07 hours from former Minister P. Harrison. According to police, the statement was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation of dairy cows from an Australian company during his tenure as a minister. Investigators allege that although a payment of USD 11.09 million had been made to the relevant company, no dairy cows were imported into the country. A senior police officer stated that the probe is being carried out over charges that the former minister caused a financial loss to the state through the transaction. Related News: P.
