Imposing fines over seat belt violations, commence

The Sri Lanka Police have started imposing fines for seat belt violations across the country. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Traffic and Road Safety) – W. P. J. Senadheera said 18 drivers were fined yesterday (Jan. 27) for failing to wear seat belts. He further emphasized that vehicles will no longer be permitted to enter expressways unless all occupants are wearing seat belts.
