India won the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final played last night (March 08). The championship match took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This marks the third time India has won the Men’s T20 World Cup. Chasing a target of 256 runs, New Zealand were bowled out for 159 runs in 19 overs, thanks to a strong bowling performance by the Indian side. Batting first, Sanju Samson’s blistering 89 off 46 balls, laced with 05 fours and 08 sixes, led India’s charge to posting a massive 255/5. He was well supported by Abhishek Sharma, who scored 52 off 21 balls, and Ishan Kishan, who made 54 off 25 balls.
