India, batting first in the final of the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup, scored 255 runs for the loss of five wickets against New Zealand today (8) in Ahmedabad. The total recorded by India is considered the highest score ever posted by a team in a Twenty20 World Cup final. Indian opening batsmen Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave the side an aggressive start against the New Zealand bowlers, putting on a 98-run partnership for the first wicket in 7.1 overs. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube’s late assault in the final over helped propel the Indian innings to 255 runs.
