Landslide warnings continue

The National Building Research Organisation has taken steps to update the landslide early warning notice issued for two districts. The organisation stated that the warning will be in effect from 8.00 a.m. today (21) until 8.00 a.m. tomorrow (22). Accordingly, residents in the Nildandahinna and Walapane Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Nuwara Eliya District have been advised to remain alert. In addition, the National Building Research Organisation has advised residents in the Matara, Hanguranketha areas of the Nuwara Eliya District, and the Meegahakivula and Kandaketiya Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Badulla District to remain vigilant.
