LNG production in Qatar temporarily halted following Iranian attacks

2026-03-02 - 14:18

QatarEnergy, the state-owned energy company of Qatar, has announced that it has temporarily suspended its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production operations in the wake of Iranian attacks. According to foreign media reports, the attacks were reportedly directed at Ras Laffan, Qatar’s main gas processing hub, as well as Mesaieed, another key production centre. Qatar, which stands alongside countries such as the United States, Australia and Russia as one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, plays a pivotal role in the global energy market. Economic analysts, cited by international media, warn that the suspension of production could have a direct impact on the global energy market and LNG price trends.
