Luxury house of ‘Deegala Saman’ frozen

The Illegal Assets and Intellectual Property Investigation Unit has taken steps to freeze a luxury house belonging to Ajith Perera, alias “Deegala Saman”, who is currently in remand custody over drug trafficking charges. The property, valued at over Rs. 20 million, is situated in the Dehiowita area of Avissawella. Police stated that the house had been purchased for his mistress. Investigations suspect that the property had been purchased using proceeds from drug trafficking, as the suspect has been unable to explain the source of the funds used to purchase it.
