Male body found inside parked trishaw in Moratuwa

The Moratuwa Police have discovered the body of a person with several stab wounds inside a three-wheeler parked near the Moratuwa bus stand. According to the police, they rushed to the location following a tip-off via the 119 emergency hotline at around 7.30 p.m. yesterday (March 03) and proceeded to the scene. Upon inspection, the body was found lying on the rear seat of the three-wheeler. Investigations revealed that the victim had sustained severe stab wounds. Police suspect that the individual may have been murdered using a sharp weapon elsewhere and then brought to this location. Meanwhile, the deceased has been identified as a resident of the Moratumulla area known by the alias “Sura.” Police further stated that the victim had been named as a suspect in a previous shooting-related homicide and that a case against him is currently pending before the Moratuwa Magistrate’s Court.
