Man caught with 500 litres of fuel

A man was arrested in the Salmal Yaya area of Katu Wewa, Hambantota, for possessing nearly 500 litres of fuel, police reported. Authorities stated that the seizure followed a tip-off received by the military intelligence unit. During a search of the suspect’s residence, officials recovered over 480 litres of diesel and nearly 20 litres of petrol. The suspect, along with the seized fuel, is scheduled to be produced before the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court.
