The Sri Lanka Navy has successfully intercepted two multi-day fishing trawlers in the southern seas, seizing approximately 270 kilograms of suspected narcotics. Following a tip-off from the police, the Navy deployed long-range vessels for a specialized search operation. The raid resulted in the arrest of 11 suspects—five found on the first vessel and six on the second. The intercepted boats, the suspects, and the drug haul have been brought to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbor. All evidence and individuals are being handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further legal action. (dailymirror.lk)
