New electronic system to declare assets & liabilities

A new electronic system to declare assets and liabilities is to be launched tomorrow (March 31), the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) says. The inauguration ceremony to launch this system is to be held at 10.00am tomorrow a t the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) at the BMICH, Colombo. So far, the declaration of assets and liabilities in Sri Lanka was done by manually completing printed forms. However, the CIABOC points out that this system is not merely about ompleting a form online, but also fully digitizing the entire process. The Commission further states that it has also incorporated verification facilities to detect possible incorrect information entries in the declaration of assets and liabilities as well as unusual accumulation of assets.
