New members appointed to Select Committee on Cyclone Ditwah preparedness

A group of more MPs has been appointed to serve on the special parliament select committee to conduct a full study and report on the lack of preparedness in facing Cyclone Ditwah, and to present its recommendations and suggestions in this regard. Accordingly, Deputy Ministers – Prasanna Gunasena, Anton Jayakody, and Aruna Jayasekara, and MPs – Anuradha Jayaratne, Hector Appuhamy, Rohini Kumari Wijerathna, MKM Aslam, Anushka Thilakarathne, Kanthasamy Prabhu, Ruwan Mapalagama, and Pathmanathan Sathiyalingam have been named as members of the special committee. This was announced by the Speaker of the House, Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, at today’s (March 05) Parliament sitting. Minister of Health and Mass Media – Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa serves as the Chairman of this special committee.
