No fuel for those who jump the queue

Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic Control and Road Safety, W.P.J. Senadheera, says that no opportunity will be given to anyone who attempts to obtain fuel by bypassing the queue. Speaking to the media, he stated that when some drivers attempt to obtain fuel from outside the queue, it could lead to tense situations. Therefore, fuel station owners and the police have been informed not to provide fuel to anyone who comes from outside the queue, he said. He further noted that pedestrians have been facing considerable inconvenience as some motorcyclists are occupying pavements, and that police officers have been deployed to ensure public safety. Deputy Inspector General W.P.J. Senadheera also urged all drivers to act with patience.
