No request for fuel from SL for US aircraft

Minister of Health and Mass Media and Cabinet Spokesman – Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, stated that there is currently no information reported regarding a request to obtain fuel from Sri Lanka for American aircraft. He made this clarification during a media briefing held yesterday (March 02) at the Department of Government Information, convened to outline the Government’s position on the impact of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and the country’s prospective course of action. Responding to a question raised by a journalist on whether a request had been received to provide fuel to American aircraft, the Minister said no such request has been reported to date. Meanwhile, the journalist also noted that a similar request had reportedly been made to Sri Lanka during the period of the Gulf War.
