Over 10,000 being treated at STD/AIDS clinics : Nalinda

Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa has revealed that over 10,000 patients are receiving treatment from 41 clinics conducted under the Sri Lanka National STD/AIDS Control Programme. Responding to a question raised by SJB MP S.M. Marikkar, the Minister said in Parliament today (Feb. 05) that 4,771 HIV AIDS patients, 1,469 Syphilis patients, 1,035 Gonorrhea patients and 2,891 Herpes patients are receiving clinical treatment in this manner. He also assured that there is no shortage of medicines used for AIDS patients with stocks sufficient for a period of 04 months available.
