Over 223,000 tourists flock to SL in early 2026

Sri Lanka has welcomed 223,645 tourists in the first 25 days of 2026, according to data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA). The highest single-day arrivals during this period were recorded on Jan. 15, when 10,483 tourists entered the country. Among source countries, India led with 41,603 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom (23,329), Russia (22,876), and Germany (14,431).
