Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has thanked Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif after Pakistan decided to participate in the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup match against India, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka. In a post on his official X account, the President said it was a matter of great happiness that the highly anticipated India–Pakistan match will be held as planned and Sri Lanka, as a co-host of the tournament, extends its thanks to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and all parties who supported the continuation of the fixture.
