The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) has warned that complaints regarding fraudulent websites claiming to provide fuel QR codes have increased. Senior Information Security Engineer at CERT – Charuka Damunupola, explained that these fake websites, circulating on social media and messaging platforms, claim to provide access to the National Fuel Pass System. CERT stated that these sites are part of an online scam designed to mislead users and steal personal or financial information. The public is strongly advised not to click on suspicious links or scan QR codes shared through unofficial websites, messaging applications, or social media platforms.
