Indian media have reported that the wedding of the most talked-about couple in South Indian cinema, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda, took place today (26). It is said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his congratulations to Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda. Although there had long been rumours about a romantic relationship, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna never officially confirmed it. The revelation of their wedding just days beforehand added a special significance to their union. According to their official announcement, the wedding, titled “The Wedding of VIROSH”, was held in accordance with tradition in the city of Udaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. Rajasthan is widely regarded as India’s wedding capital. The name “VIROSH” is a combination of the names Vijay and Rashmika, a title suggested by their fans. A notable feature of the ceremony was the ban on mobile phones. Accordingly, no guest was permitted to bring a mobile phone to the event. It is also reported that Netflix had offered ₹60 crore for the rights to the wedding. However, the couple declined the offer, stating that their marriage was priceless. Only immediate family members and a few very close friends were invited to the wedding. Among them, it is said, were several well-known figures from the film industry. In keeping with tradition, two customary ceremonies were also held prior to the wedding. Reports say that one ceremony was hosted at Rashmika’s home by her mother’s relatives, while another was organised by Vijay’s family. Following the wedding, the newly married couple are said to be planning to take a month-long break from their professional commitments to enjoy their honeymoon.
