Saman Chandrasiri nominated as SL’s new Ambassador to Israel

Upon the completion of the three-year term of Nimal Bandara as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel, Saman Kumar Chandrasiri has been nominated as the new Ambassador to the State of Israel. The appointment has received approval from the Committee on High Posts of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It is further stated that the nomination has been submitted with the concurrence of the Israeli Government. Mr. Chandrasiri has served for a considerable period at the Department of Immigration and Emigration and is currently serving as its Director of Training. Meanwhile, Ambassador Nimal Bandara is scheduled to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism at the end of February for official duties, after which Mr. Chandrasiri is expected to assume duties in his new post.
