Signs that Vijay’s Sri Lanka link may be ending

South Indian cinema superstar and politician Thalapathy Vijay and his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, have decided to end their 27-year marriage. According to Indian media reports, Sangeetha has filed a petition seeking divorce before the Chengalpattu Court in Tamil Nadu. As reported by the ANI news agency, the petition submitted by Sangeetha states that she took this decision due to an alleged extramarital relationship maintained by Vijay with another actress. Sangeetha, who is also a social worker and entrepreneur, has, in addition to seeking divorce, requested the right to continue residing in the house where she has been living and a permanent maintenance allowance from Vijay. Vijay and Sangeetha, who were married in 1999, have a 25-year-old son, Jason Sanjay, and a 20-year-old daughter, Divya Sasha. Vijay has not yet issued any official response regarding the divorce petition. It is also said that, as Sangeetha is of Sri Lankan origin, Vijay had often extended his support in matters relating to Sri Lanka.
