Somawathiya–Sungavila road inundated

The Somawathiya–Sungavila road was submerged by about one foot of water this morning (21), according to the Polonnaruwa District Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre. According to the relevant notice issued considering the situation as at 9.15 a.m. today, the road from Sungavila to the Somawathiya sacred site has been covered by approximately one foot of water. As a result, the road has been temporarily closed to light vehicles, the Polonnaruwa Assistant Director said.
