Special bus service for exposition of sacred relics at Gangaramaya

The Police Media Division says a special bus service will be in operation for devotees visiting the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo for the exposition of sacred relics. The sacred relics will be on public veneration from 6.00 a.m. on Feb. 05 until 7.00 a.m. on Feb. 11, 2026. According to police, transport services will operate from the following designated locations: Old MOD Grounds Parking Area (MOD Park) Vehicle park near the Lake House roundabout Devotees arriving via the Kompannavidiya Railway Station can reach the Lake House roundabout vehicle park on foot. Those travelling from the Colombo Fort Railway Station can also walk to the same location via D. R. Wijewardena Mawatha, without proceeding towards Pettah. Police state that the special bus service will operate 24 hours a day with the participation of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and private bus operators, and will be available at a concessionary fare.
