Sri Lanka recorded a comprehensive 105-run victory over Oman in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match played today (12). With this win, Sri Lanka, who have now won both matches played so far, moved to the top of Group B. Chasing a challenging target of 226 runs set by Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Oman could manage only 120 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Nadeem was the lone bright spot in the Omani innings, remaining unbeaten on 53, while Wasim Ali contributed 27 runs. No other Omani batsman was able to score more than 9 runs. For Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera (2/19) and Maheesh Theekshana (2/11) impressed with the ball. This was the first time Sri Lanka and Oman met in an international T20 match.
