US President Donald Trump has issued a strongly worded statement targeting the Iranian leadership via his Truth Social account. “Their air defence systems, air force, navy and leadership are now finished,” he wrote. Alongside this statement, he also shared an article published in The Washington Post titled “The Birth of the Trump Doctrine.” Referring to reports that Iranian authorities are attempting to engage in talks with the United States, the President stated: “They want to talk. I said ‘Too late!’” Against the backdrop of escalating regional tensions, Mr Trump’s remarks indicate that he is pursuing a hardline policy with regard to Iran.
