Traffic disrupted on Somawathiya–Sungavila road

Police have temporarily suspended traffic on the Somawathiya–Sungavila main road following further flooding from the Mahaweli River. The affected area lies between 35 and 37 km from Diggala, with water levels reaching around 2 1/2 feet. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes when visiting the Somawathiya sacred site.
