Water cut in parts of Colombo

Water supply to several areas has been disrupted today (Feb. 18) due to a sudden failure in the main transmission line from the Ambatale treatment plant to Dehiwala, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) announced. Affected areas include Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Soysapura, Ratmalana, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Wellawatte, Pamankada, Mulleriyawa, and Kolonnawa. Meanwhile, residents of Battaramulla are experiencing low water pressure, according to reports. The NWSDB stated that efforts are underway to restore the supply, and it is expected to return to normal before 6.00 a.m. tomorrow (Feb. 19).
