WPC arrested with heroin in Badulla

A woman police constable (WPC) attached to the Badulla Divisional Crime Investigation Unit has been arrested on charges of drug possession, police said. The arrest was made yesterday (Jan. 26) during a raid reportedly conducted by Ambagasdowa Police. At the time of arrest, officers recovered 4g and 200mg of heroin from her possession. Investigations have been launched to determine whether the WPC had the drugs for distribution purposes. The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Badulla Magistrate’s Court today (Jan. 27).
