Youth arrested over reckless motorbike riding

Police have arrested a youth following a viral video showing dangerous motorcycle riding. The police had launched an investigation after a video circulating on social media showed 02 youths riding a motorcycle recklessly, obstructing other road users, and posing a high risk of accidents. Investigations revealed that the motorcycle was being driven toward Anamaduwa. Accordingly, a team from the Nawagaththegama Police Station apprehended the rider yesterday (March 08) on charges of dangerous and reckless riding and attempting culpable homicide by endangering others. The motorcycle involved was also taken into police custody. The arrested suspect is a 19-year-old resident of Nawagaththegama. He is scheduled to be produced before the Anamaduwa Magistrate’s Court today (March 09). Further investigations are underway. Video – Accident 1st
